Bethany Covenant Village to change ownership

Dear Northwest Covenant Church Pastor,

Covenant Retirement Communities has made the decision to transfer ownership of Bethany Covenant Village to another care entity, Senior Health Management, based in Minneapolis and owned by Jon Sondergaard. After investigating several options for Bethany we have determined that this course of action best serves the residents and staff.

Bethany has an 83 year history of serving Northeast Minneapolis which began as a mission of mercy by Salem Covenant Church, continued under the direction of the Northwest Conference of the Evangelical Covenant Church and since 1980 has been under the direction of Covenant Retirement Communities.

The coming changes are the result of a careful planning process, based in prayer and designed to help both Bethany and Covenant Retirement Communities (CRC) of Minnesota remain strong and to fulfill their mission long into the future. We have been assured that it is the intent of Senior Health Management to continue to maintain the traditions for which Bethany is known and we are pleased that the Bethany name will remain on the property.
