Soong-Chan Rah to speak at 2012 NWC Annual Meeting
Send your 'Ask the Lord of the Harvest' prayer lists with your delegates
The 2012 Northwest Conference Annual Meeting, which will feature the theme "Mission Friends: Love Mercy, Do Justice," will take place April 20-21 at Alexandria Covenant Church in Alexandria, MN. "Love Mercy, Do Justice" is one of the Five Smooth Stones (core ministries) of the Evangelical Covenant Church.
In keeping with the theme of this year's meeting, Dr. Soong-Chan Rah will be the keynote speaker for both the NWC Annual Meeting, and the Ministerial Association Annual Meeting, which takes place April 19-20 at the same location.
Rah is Milton B. Engebretson Associate Professor of Church Growth and Evangelism at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, IL, and the author of "The Next Evangelicalism: Freeing the Church from Western Cultural Captivity."
72 - Covenant Evangelism
The vision of 72 is to empower ordinary disciples to win lost people to the Kingdom of God. 72 is not a curriculum but a framework for how our churches might live out being the 72. Go to www.covchurch.org and see the new resources available to train, communicate and develop your members to become good at telling the story of Jesus-and it all begins with prayer.
The first resource churches are encouraged to begin using is "Ask the Lord of the Harvest," the prayer brochure that replaces Bringing my World to Christ and What's Your One Step. Order your "Ask the Lord of the Harvest" bulletin inserts online at no charge from Covenant Bookstore: http://covbooks.com/products/ask-brochure. Send prayer lists to the NWC Annual Meeting with your elected delegates.
Brochures and registration materials will be mailed to our churches soon, so make plans to select your delegates and register.
