The Youth Pastor's Connection has a new meeting place!  We've outgrown the Conference's conference room!
Beginning in January, we'll meet at Bethlehem Covenant Church, just a few blocks from the Northwest Conference office. Their address is 3141 43rd Ave. South, Minneapolis, MN, 55406. If you're tired of Subway for lunch, try Turtle Bread Company at 4205 E 34th St., which is just a few blocks away from the church. YPC meets Thursday, Jan. 19 Jim Beilby is with us to talk theology and youth ministry. Jim specializes in theology and apologetics at Bethel University and is a popular seminar speaker at CHIC. Plus, he's married to a former youth pastor! With credentials like that, you've got to come hear him. Bring a lunch and come for the connections, the encouragement and to have your brain challenged. How do I find the 411 on NWC Youth Ministry stuff? There are a couple of places where we communicate to and with youth workers: 1) Email updates (like this). 2) Facebook: the Northwest Conference Youth Ministry has its own page, which is open to everyone. 3) Twitter: nwcym 4) The new YS Network has a NWC network page. Go to the "Networks" tab and look for "Northwest Conference of CovChurch."

CHIC 2012 excursion update  If you're heading to CHIC 2012, be sure to check out the CHIC Excursion info. Excursions are off-site trips for individual youth ministries attending CHIC, like "waterparking," horseback riding, shopping, or white water rafting.

Organizing in 2012 After you've packed up the tinsel and cleaned up the cookie crumbs, think about getting organized this next year. Here are a couple of apps that make this part of your life a little easier. Lemon.com is a free tool that collects all your receipts and organizes them into a report. You can use it for e-receipts or to take a picture of a paper receipt. JotNot is like having a little scanner on your smart phone. The basic version is free, but it's worth paying .99 to upgrade to JotNot Pro. For fun: RunPee.com is a much-needed app if you get the Big Guzzle size of Mt. Dew at the theater. It tells you when's the best time during a movie to make a break for the bathroom. |

Youth Worker Connection 2012
