Next Thursday, Nov. 17, is the Youth Pastor's Connection! We'll be talking about trends in youth ministry with Tim Schmoyer. Tim is the founder of StudentMinistry.org and MinistryFamily.com and is the author of several youth ministry books with Youth Specialties/Zondervan and Group/Simply Youth Ministry. He is a national youth leader trainer, speaker, and consultant, and serves his church in Minnesota where he lives with his wife and two children.
We asked him to bring his book, "Life in Student Ministry: Practical Conversations on Thriving in Youth Ministry," which is available to NWC peeps for $10 (cash).
We meet from 12-3 p.m. at the Northwest Conference office. Bring a lunch.

Recharge registration is now open! This is a great, one-day training event on Jan. 7 for youth pastors and their leadership teams. Your crew will be challenged and encouraged by Mark Matlock (Planet Wisdom) and Heather Flies (Wooddale Church).

VIVE students learn about college Over 40 high school students gathered on Saturday, Oct. 29, for the launch of the college-prep event VIVE. Students and their youth pastors had an amazing day of learning about what it takes to get into college as well as what it takes to succeed when you get there. Featuring Judy Howard Peterson, Tony Zamble, Rich Kohng, and Stephen Kelly of University Ministries at North Park University in partnership with Evangelical Covenant Church Department of Christian Formation. Young adults, ages 18 to 28, are a valuable and gifted part of the Kingdom of God. Their uniqueness can be an enigma to churches who wish to engage them. These experienced speakers will help unpack the mysteries of this group, as well as share the philosophy behind their successful methods to engage young adults in community.
