2011 workshop to feature author, consultant Mark McCloskey
Recently you received registration materials in the mail for this year's Town and Country Workshop at Arrowwood Resort. I just wanted to reiterate the importance of this workshop in further developing your skills as a town and country pastor. This year, the workshop will be focusing on the pastor's leadership role in setting the church's vision and purpose. Again this year, Dr. Mark McCloskey, Professor of Ministry Leadership at Bethel Seminary, will be our instructor. If you were at last year's workshop on leadership, you know how engaging Mark is and how much you can get out of another workshop led by him.
The workshop begins the Sunday evening before the Ministerial Retreat (Oct 9.) and will conclude before lunch on Monday morning. This year, we will also be including a bonus session lead by Mike Brown, NWC Director of Church Planting, who will be presenting a hands-of session about MissionInsite, a new tool offered by the conference to provide churches with valuable information about your church's setting and the potential mission opportunities that might exist for you. Be sure to bring your laptop along. There is no charge for the workshop, but you need to pre-register (Sunday night sleeping room is not covered). Go to http://nwc-cov.org/affiliated-ministries/town-and-country for more details and the registration form. If you have any questions, call Randy Young, chair of the Town and Country Commission, at 218.692.1854. I encourage to you come to the Ministerial Retreat early and participate in this workshop.
