Post-Christendom Mission

The church as we know it is changing. We live in a post-modern, post-Christian and post-American world, where the church is no longer placed at the center of society. Our influence is waning and our basis for ecclesiology will drive the way we interact in this new reality.

It begs the question, what should the church look like and how does the mission of the church adapt within this context? In his book, "The Shaping of Things to Come," Alan Hirsch paints a picture of what the new church should look like. Hirsch asserts that "the church can be reborn through incarnational mission, messianic spirituality and apostolic structure."

Human Trafficking task force forming at Bloomington Covenant

Bloomington Covenant Church in Bloomington, MN, has formed a task force to address/keep abreast of human trafficking in our area. This interest was born in part by the presentation by Paul and Kathy Wilson at the Ministerial Association retreat last fall.

If you or someone from your church is interested in participating in the task force, please contact Cyndi Johnson.

'5 Quick Ways Social Media Can Kill Your Brand'

By Bryan Malley

As you consider how your church might engage social media platforms now and in the future, here's an interesting resource called "5 Quick Ways Social Media Can Kill Your Brand" by Dawn Nicole Baldwin.

Baldwin is a strategist with a passion to help churches reach people more effectively. She lives this out as founder and lead strategist of AspireOne and as a senior partner with Jarbyco, a mobile communications firm specializing in live events that works with organizations such as Park Community Church, Lifechurch.tv and Youth Specialties.

It's a quick read and might help you decide if you're in a position to dive into social media applications.
