Minnehaha Academy announces Bloomington Campus consolidation

Minnehaha Academy announced the Board of Education's decision made Jan. 27, 2011, to consolidate Bloomington and South Campus into one Lower School, at South Campus in Minneapolis, MN.

All programs at the Minnehaha Bloomington Campus will continue for the duration of the current school year.  The consolidation will be in effect for the 2011-12 school year.

The suspension of a presence in the Southwest Metro community is based on decreasing demographic projections in the Bloomington area and subsequent decreased enrollment at the Minnehaha Campus in Bloomington. Under the leadership of recently appointed PreK-8 Principal Mr. Bruce Maeda, the students and families from the Bloomington Campus will be welcomed at the Minneapolis Lower School.

To learn more about the decision, visit the Minnehaha Academy website.

Leadership workshops offered Saturday, April 30

We hope you are making plans to attend the Northwest Conference Annual Meeting, which will take place at Crossview Covenant Church in North Mankato, MN, April 28-30.

"Come hear testimonies of how God is working in various ministries throughout the conference. Come see what might spur us on to greater visions for the future. Come experience the relationship of the fellowship family we call the Covenant.

Come participate in decisions that will impact our collective potential as we bring in the leadership of a new Conference Superintendent and lay leadership throughout the Northwest Conference. Come expecting God to continue His transforming power in our midst in ways we cannot explain."

- Pastor Kevin Melin, on behalf of host church

The meeting's events are open to all who wish to attend, and you won't want to miss the worship celebrations and leadership workshops being offered this year.

Prayer request: Jan Hansen

Jan Hansen, a member of Community Covenant Church in Minneapolis, MN, and the Northwest Conference Executive Board, and former member of the Minnehaha Academy Board of Education, slipped and fell, sustaining a head injury on Monday. She is currently in intensive care at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

NWC Church Resource Bank

One great feature of the new Northwest Conference website is our ability to connect churches with specific needs, with those who have resources to share. The site features a "Church Resource Bank," and our vision for this page is that churches with items or resources (e.g. curriculum, equipment, other assets) they no longer have need for would post them for those who might find the resources helpful.

If you think your church has something to share, please email What's Available, Church Name, a Brief Description, and Contact Information, to Cheryl at the Northwest Conference office.

If your church has a need, remember to check back often for new postings.
