Sankofa-Immediately following Midwinter

There will be a Sankofa journey Friday, Feb. 4 to Monday, Feb. 7. Have you always thought about participating in a Sankofa but never had the opportunity? Now is your chance!

Join us as we journey towards racial righteousness together. We will depart from Chicago Friday late afternoon and return Monday afternoon. This interactive journey explores historic sites of importance in the Civil Rights movements and sites of oppression and inequality for people of color, while seeking to move participants toward healing the wounds and racial divide caused by hundreds of years of racial injustice in the United States.

For more information, or to register, please contact Chrissy Palmerlee at chrissy.palmerlee@covchurch.org or 773.907.3301.

Hillman baby
It's a boy!

Congratulations to Nathan (Director of Youth and Family Ministry at Community Covenant Church in Upsala, MN) and Rebecca Hillman on the birth of their son. Anders Nathan Hillman was born on Sept. 30, at 7:12 p.m., weighing 9 lbs. 3 oz.

NWC Church Resource Bank

One great feature of the new Northwest Conference website is our ability to connect churches with specific needs, with those who have resources to share. The site features a "Church Resource Bank," and our vision for this page is that churches with items or resources (e.g. curriculum, equipment, other assets) they no longer have need for would post them for those who might find the resources helpful.

If you think your church has something to share, please email What's Available, Church Name, a Brief Description, and Contact Information, to Cheryl at the Northwest Conference office.

If your church has a need, remember to check back often for new postings.

NWC videos

New video series highlights ministry priorities of the NWC

The Northwest Conference recently released a series of video segments designed to highlight ministry priorities of the conference, including: "Congregational Vitality," "Church Planting" and "Children, Youth & Family."

The videos are designed for use throughout the year in church new member classes, services and other adult education opportunities to help congregations better understand and engage the work of the Northwest Conference.

The series is currently available on the new NWC web site's video page. The videos are also available in even higher definition on Vimeo (click here) and this would be the ideal source for streaming the series in your church or group.
