Dates for your calendar

Dear Youth Pastor/Worker,

As the summer winds down, we wanted to get some dates to you for your 2010-11 planning. Following are preliminary details and dates for our Youth Pastor Connections for 2010-11, and for SALT.

We look forward to reconnecting with you again in September.

Youth Pastor's Connection
YPC logo final 2YPC is a great time to gather as Youth Pastors and Youth Workers to extend support to one another, to stay informed on trends in our field and to sharpen our skills and foundations for ministry. When we are able, we will disseminate content from these meetings to those who may have difficulty attending any of our scheduled sessions. Here are the meeting dates for 2010/2011.

We meet at the NWC office on Thursdays from Noon-3 p.m. Bring your own lunch with you.

SALT (Student Action Leadership Training)
SALT is a half-day training event for student leaders (who are current high school students) and adult staff to be more fully-informed and equipped with insights and tools to lead their youth groups and peers effectively in the church and within their wider communities.

Something new this year-SALT is scheduled for Saturday. This year SALT will take place on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010- Full details and registration info will be sent to churches in early September.

As we did a few years ago, we will again be partnering with Youth Leadership and Tiger McLuen's team to design and facilitate the training and activities for this day. Save the date and make plans to recruit your student and adult leaders for this time of growing together.

Children, Youth & Family video

At the 2010 Northwest Conference Annual Meeting we debuted a series of video segments designed to help our constituents better understand and engage NWC ministry priorities.

One segment focuses on Children, Youth & Family ministry throughout the conference. Several youth pastors and children's pastors from NWC churches are highlighted in the video. To view this video, and others in the series, visit http://nwc-cov.org/resources/videos and click on Mission Friends video series.
