Greetings!

It is time for regional officer nominations!

As your recent VAEA News stated:  "This is an excellent opportunity for you to encourage and support a colleague to become involved with the (CR)VAEA.  Take a moment and nominate someone now--or consider running for an office yourself.  During these difficult times your professional organization is more important than ever."
Call for Officer Nominations
Regional nominations are now requested for the following officers:
  • President
  • Vice President

Nomination forms are required.  Nominees must complete a Consent to Serve Form and a Standardized Vita Form.  All forms are located on the VAEA Website.

Research Survey Request
"Multicultural Art Education in Virginia's Public High Schools"

If you are a public high school art teacher in Virginia I would greatly appreciate your responses to this survey. The goal of this study is to identify how public high school art teachers currently use multicultural content in their classrooms, and what hurdles they face in doing so more frequently. I hope to identify the issues and concerns that art teachers have surrounding multicultural art education and present these findings to pre-service and in-service teaching programs wishing to improve their coverage of multicultural content.

The survey will take approximately 10-20 minutes to complete. All responses are completely anonymous and will be analyzed in aggregate. The results of this study will be presented at future VAEA conferences, and may be made available to you personally at your request.

The survey can be found here: http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/QDL6KWJ

If you have any questions or concerns about this study, or wish to be contacted for future research on multicultural art education, please contact Laura Nichols at nicholslk@mymail.vcu.edu

Thank you in advance for your participation in this research.
