Heart of it All
Greetings!

As we put the Canada Day long weekend behind us and head into the heart of summer in the weeks to come, we would like to extend our best wishes for a safe season to all of our donors and community partners.

We hope everyone had fun at the many local celebrations marking Canada Day, one of our favourite holidays. Thanks to Dr. Romas Stas, who you will read more about below, both Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering, as well as Rouge Valley Centenary, were appropriately decorated for the holiday, with Canada Flags in almost every direction you went in both hospitals.

As one of the dedicated volunteers on our Board of Directors, the Foundation is proud to support Dr. Stas's efforts to celebrate the holiday.

Enjoy our latest news and have a wonderful summer.

Best regards,

Chad Hanna

Albert Campbell ACCI
club presents
$1,000 to RVHSF

Thank you to two student leaders at Albert Campbell Collegiate Institute for visiting Rouge Valley Centenary hospital recently to make a special donation of $1,000.

The school's Rouge Valley Foundation @ ACCI club raised the funds through pizza sales, selling their Campbell Swagger materials as well as sherbet and shake sales.

40 years marked Dr. Stas and Dr. Price
with celebration
for Dr. Stas

Dr. Romas Stas is celebrating 40 years of practicing medicine at Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital, this year.

Many of the staff and volunteers at RVAP took part in a reception June 20, to recognize Dr. Stas's long-time commitment. The party began with a ceremonial tree planting of a red maple in his honour, and continued on the outdoor deck beside 2 North where refreshments were served and Dr. Stas visited with friends and colleagues.

Pictured: Dr. Stas, left, with fellow physician and close friend, Dr. Carman Price, who made a special visit to be at the party.

Vendors display new Bed demo
beds to be considered

A bed demonstration was held last week at Rouge Valley Centenary hospital and will come to Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering this week as new beds are being considered for purchase.

Beds for Centenary will be purchased as a result of the Foundation's Buy a Bed Campaign.

A number of vendors were asked to come in to show off the beds they have available. Demonstrations were offered at RVC Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, with beds such as acute beds, bariatric beds and birthing beds, as well as stretchers and bed surfaces on display.
