Cadets make Cadet gift
special visit to
Buy a Bed

The Rouge Valley Centenary hospital Buy a Bed Campaign welcomed some very dedicated fundraisers to the hospital on June 7, when the 876 Lincoln Alexander Squadron Cadets presented an amazing cheque for $5,000.

The funds were raised over the last year through the Cadets' activities in the Highland Creek Bed Race, bake sales, raffles, and various other events, the group said.

of tax season for
RVHS Foundation

Thank you to the team from Argosy Securities for visiting the Foundation office at Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital on June 15. Representatives presented a cheque for $5,000!

The funds combined fundraising from their annual Tax Preparation services and sponsorship of the RVAP Staff BBQ recently.
The portion of the donation from the Tax Preparation fundraiser was dedicated to support the Heart of it All campaign.

40 years of McDonald's Celebration
serving the
community

The Buy a Bed Campaign was a big part of a special event on June 15, as Terri Toms, owner of the McDonald's at Kingston Road and Lawrence, celebrated her 40th Anniversary of serving the community.

Terri's years of involvement in Scarborough were recognized and in keeping with her generous nature, Terri took the opportunity to present the Buy a Bed Campaign with a cheque for $5,000, received by campaign co-chairs Janet and Paul Ainslie.

Pictured: Paul Ainslie had words of praise for Terri Toms during the celebration, with Ronald McDonald offering support and approval!

Our very own OlympianFlag signing

RVHS staff and our donors are encouraged to come by the Foundation Office any time before July 6 and sign your name on the Canadian Flag to be given to Olympic star Priscilla Lopes-Schliep who will be competing in this year's Olympics in London. She is the daughter of RVHS staff member John Lopes.

The flag will be presented to her as a gift representing our best wishes for her to bring home the gold. And the flag may even be handy for her to fly at the end of the race if she succeeds!

Flag signing opportunities are anytime between 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Foundation's RVC office (located in the court) until June 22 and then at RVAP in the Foundation office (located in the trailer at the east entrance) from June 25 to July 6.

In celebration of the Queen's Jubilee, Volunteer Services at Rouge Valley Centenary hospital held a strawberry social fundraiser on Tuesday June 5, 2012.

Greeted at the door by Queen Elizabeth herself, guests enjoyed spongecake with strawberries and cream, accompanied by a freshly brewed cup of tea, all served on fine bone china.

Hats, purses, gloves and even tiaras were the attire of the afternoon.
