Rouge Valley Centenary Buy a Bed campaign

Heart of it All
Greetings!

You may have read the story in the News Advertiser or heard it on the radio at CKDO or KX96 when Dr. Mark Prieditis was interviewed, but if you didn't, please let me be the one to give you the great news: The Image is Everything campaign is complete and we have exceeded our $5 million fundraising goal.

And we couldn't have done it without you!

Yes, last week we announced that the fundraising campaign that brought the first MRI to Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital had reached $5.3 million. It is the culmination of about 20 months of hard work by the campaign team and Foundation staff, along with the many volunteers and countless individual, service club and business donors who came together to make this such a remarkable success.

Thank you to everyone who took part in this campaign. The MRI has been very busy in its new permanent home at RVAP's Diagnostic Imaging Unit and is serving the community the way we had hoped and expected when the campaign was first envisioned.

Sincerely,

Chad Hanna

reaches $5.3 million

The Rouge Valley Health System Foundation is excited to announce that thanks to the tremendous support of the west Durham community, the Image is Everything campaign that brought the first MRI to Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital has exceeded its fundraising target, closing the campaign with a grand total of more than $5.3 million.

The campaign journey, which had its start in the playground of Lincoln Avenue Public School in Ajax, began with a simple, yet generous $300 donation from the school's basketball teams, raised through a bake sale.

February has come to a close and with it, so has To Rouge with Love.

Through this annual event supporters of Rouge Valley Health System's Cardiac Care Program serve as hosts for cocktail parties and together with their generous guests, raise funds to help purchase essential cardiac equipment.

On Feb. 26, Chad and Susan Hanna hosted their party with special guest, cardiologist Dr. Nisha D'Mello.

buy new beds

The Malvern Town Centre McDonald's restaurant is holding a grand opening on March 10, revealing its stylish new look and they've decided to support the Rouge Valley Centenary hospital Buy a Bed Campaign through the special event.

On March 10, 2012, $1 from every Big Mac sold will go toward the campaign to bring 100 new beds to the hospital. There will also be a visit from Ronald McDonald himself that day, at 1 pm.

Malvern Town Centre is at 31 Tapscott Road in Scarborough.

Rouge Valley innovation for patients wins Cancer Care competition

An innovative computer program to prioritize surgical procedures at Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) has earned the hospital a $10,000 grant from Cancer Care Ontario (CCO).

The winning proposal was submitted as part of CCO's 'The Operating Room' competition, which was held during the organization's Chief Information Officer (CIO) Day 2012, in February. The contest provided an opportunity to submit an innovative information management or information technology solution addressing a health-care need.
