We are sending out this MRIval eBlast to all of the friends of the RVHS Foundation's Image is Everything campaign to let you know more about the exciting day and get you up to speed on the current state of this important fundraising campaign.

When we began in June of 2010, there were many who didn't even know Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital didn't have an MRI machine. Well, that's not the case anymore. Since announcing we needed to raise $5 million to bring an MRI here, west Durham communities, along with the support of government leaders, have raised awareness and helped us reach almost 80 per cent of our goal in just a little more than a year.

It's been remarkable the level of support we've received. And although our fundraising efforts are not complete, we would like to thank the Rouge Valley Health System (RVHS) for making Aug. 29 possible, for the MRI actually making it here. It is the hospital that purchased the MRI in advance and funded the renovations, while campaign fundraising was ongoing.

We have a lot to celebrate on Monday and along with seeing the MRI delivered, we want to celebrate the people of this community that made it possible.

Please join us or follow on the internet or the radio on Monday.

In just four short days, the Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital will receive its much-needed MRI machine. Final adjustments were made this week prior to shipping the MRI machine and as of Monday morning, it will be travelling east down Hwy. 401 from Toronto to Durham Region.

If you can't be there, you can stay on top of all the details and the latest news by visiting www.rougeMRI.ca on Monday morning, starting at 5:30 a.m. There you will find a link to CKDO radio and Terry Johnston's CKDO morning show, to listen live. Terry and the team will be broadcasting from RVAP with updates throughout the morning on the truck's progress and interviewing some of the key people involved in the campaign and at the hospital.

Also, there will be regular updates at www.rougeMRI.ca throughout the morning via our Twitter feed to be hosted on the site and we will be posting pictures from several spots along the route so you can see the truck arriving in Pickering and travelling to Harwood Ave. to the hospital.
