Greetings!
Here we are in March and of course everyone here at the Foundation is abuzz with activities surrounding the Image is Everything Gala. I'm very excited about this year's gala, because as we all know, Image really IS everything. And I hope you will be there to share in the excitement. Yes, the gala is a chance to raise more funds to reach our $5 million goal to purchase an MRI machine for Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital. But just as important, the gala is a fun opportunity to celebrate the campaign itself and to show off your style. There will be some great surprises at Deer Creek on March 25 and you will not want to miss this chance to put yourself in the picture! Along with a fabulous performer, Mark Masri, we have an amazing program that is sure to wow. The souvenir program itself is going to be a prized possession. Not to give too much away, but look for pages and pages of fun content featuring many of the people who have been involved in the Image is Everything campaign and you will learn more than ever before about the hospital itself. I hope you will join us later this month for the event of the season. And fair warning, this is no time to be fashionably late. Book your tickets soon, because you won't want to miss this one! Warmest regards, Tracy PatersonVice President, Development RVHS Foundation

Image very clear to Pickering Legion
February 23 was another major milestone for the Image is Everything Campaign as the Pickering Legion presented an amazing $10,000 to our community committee.
Sherry Robinson and Louise Farr Chambers from the Image is Everything Campaign Community Committee made the trip to the Legion meeting where they were presented with a $10,000 cheque from the Royal Canadian Legion #606 Pickering Branch's Poppy Fundraising Activities.
The commitment of this local service club to the hospital shows the strength of the community, and how together we can make great things happen! Special Thanks to Myrna Picotte, past President of the Pickering Legion and member of the Image is Everything Campaign Community Committee for her efforts in making this donation possible.

A birthday to remember
When Foundation volunteer Raj Thavaratnasingham has a significant birthday, he celebrates in style. A member of the Foundation's Planned Giving and Community Fundraising committees, Raj hosted a To Rouge with Love event in 2010. He enjoyed the experience so much that he decided to take it outside of his home this year to make it possible to have many more people involved. So this year, on Feb. 19, which just so happened to be close to his 60th Birthday, he celebrated both TRWL and the milestone birthday, with family and friends gathered, while collecting donations. In all, 155 guests attended, half being family and the rest Raj's clients and friends. To promote the cause of RVHS Cardiac Services, Dr. Ram Vijayaraghavan and Dr. Bhavanesh Makanjee each spoke and Karen Charter, Cath Lab nurse and Jolly Samuel, Charge Arrythmia Specialist were also on hand to mingle with guests. Also showing support were Foundation Board members Gord and Anne Moore, Toronto Councillor Paul Ainslie, along with Foundation committee volunteers Joanne Moffitt and Millie Tavener. | The To Rouge with Love event featured a wonderful dance performance.

Music of Mark Masri a gala highlight
Look forward to amazing talent at the Image is Everything Gala on March 25. The Foundation scored a huge coup when it landed an amazing local talent to grace our stage this year. | Mark Masri |
A native of Scarborough, Mark Masri is the son of a pastor and a gospel singer. His own vocal talent was apparent at a very young age, and at five he began singing in his father's church. In 2000 he released his debut album, MARK MASRI, which garnered a Juno nomination for Best Gospel Record. His passionate vocals and emotional delivery enchant listeners and in 2008 he took his talents on a 30-city US tour with American piano sensation, Jim Brickman. Mark wraps his velvety, smoky voice around classic and original songs in six languages. You hear the evidence on LA VOCE, his most recent CD and Mark's first international release. LA VOCE is a collection of romantic, soulful, orchestral pop and you can expect to hear selections from it at this year's Gala.
