Let us know if you are a planned giving donor!
Frank OrtencioDear  ,
As we we near the end of the year, the days grow shorter and fewer to make some advantageous decisions regarding minimizing capital gains and income tax.  The Planned Giving Committee would like to remind you that gifts of securities, when donated to Rouge Valley and other charities, result in zero capital gains.  It's a great way to make a significant gift to your favourite hospital at this season of giving and save yourself some tax pain in the new year!

Since we last wrote to you, the Planned Giving Committee has launched its Legacy of Care Society to recognize those remarkable donors who have committed to deferred gifts of bequests, life insurance and charitable gift annuities.  We spent a wonderful afternoon with a number of our inaugural members and all of us felt very privileged to be able to acknowledge and thank them for their very special generosity.  Go on to our website for more information on how you could join this very elite group of donors.

The Foundation's Legacy of Care Society was officially launched on Wednesday, September 22nd with a cocktail reception at Cedar Ridge Creative Centre.

The Legacy of Care Society was created to honour donors of deferred gifts - bequests, gifts of life insurance and charitable gift annuities - during their lifetimes. Nine of the Society's 31 inaugural members were in attendance and received exclusive membership pins and specially designed stationery from Foundation Chair Jim Ward and Planned Giving committee chair Frank Ortencio. Seven estates were also recognized as inaugural members at the event where past RVHS Chair Janet Ecker gave the keynote address.

Reaching out: New web pages make planned giving more accessible
In order to provide our members and guests with access to new information, we've created a web page for the Legacy of Care Society.
The page will have news updates, ways to give and an updated listing of Society members.

We are excited to enable online accessibility to those who have made a deferred gift, as well as welcome new members to exclusive benefits.
