CCCCOpening Ribbon CuttingRVAP Complex Continuing Care Unit Opens
On Wednesday, March 24, Rouge Valley celebrated the opening of its new complex continuing care (CCC) unit. This opening represents the completion of the second phase in the RVAP Redevelopment project, which will see 140,000 sq. feet of new and renovated space at that hospital campus. Among those in attendance were Ajax-Pickering MPP Joe Dickson, Pickering-Scarborough East MPP Wayne Arthurs, Pickering Mayor Dave Ryan, major donors Joe and Inga Repovs, as well as donors, staff, physicians and local media. Guests were treated to a VIP tour of the new facility. Staff also visited the unit during our open house that afternoon. On Thursday, March 25, patients were transferred from the existing space unit to the new CCC unit. MORE

Rouge Planet gala 2010Foundation's Rouge Planet fundraiser puts the gala in galaxy
Today's medical technology would certainly look like science fiction to patients 50 or 60 years ago. While celebrating innovation and the power of invention on Friday, March 26, 2010, corporate sponsors and guests of the Rouge Planet gala helped to purchase modern, state-of-the-art equipment for Rouge Valley Health System's Cardiac Care program. The event was out of this world, with everyone agreeing that the Ontario Science Centre was the perfect venue for this year's theme.

Ronald and friendRonald McDonald visits RVC
Spring is in the air, but the young patients at Rouge Valley Centenary can't enjoy it like other children their age. Helping to make the season a little sunnier for them was Ronald McDonald, who dropped by the Paediatrics Department on March 23, 2010.

Patient appreciates new RVAP ED

A note to let you know that I fell and broke my wrist and arm on Valentine's Day, and I was taken to Rouge Valley Ajax and Pickering hospital. As usual, I received wonderful care from the doctors and nurses, but this time in the new, fresh emergency department, so large and comfortable.

Sincerely,
C.M.
