1st Annual Dr. Craig Jones Memorial Golf Tournament nets $33,000
Dr. Craig Jones was a beloved anesthetist with Rouge Valley Centenary who passed away, but the memory of his smile lingers in the halls of RVC. To honour him, the Dr. Craig Jones Memorial Golf Tournament fundraising event was created. The first annual event was held on June 29, attended by many of his colleagues, friends and family. "Craig had a driving urge for something more in life," said his mother, Zabella Carson. The event raised $33,000, the proceeds from which will purchase state-of-the-art video equipment for RVC's operating room -- a high-definition three-chip camera, HD flat-panel monitors, new LED technology light source, and more -- which will be used in various laparoscopic and arthroscopic procedures, including bowel resection, nephrectomy, hysterectomy and joint repairs. Photos from the event can be viewed online on our Photo Gallery.
