The Fractional Ownership Solution
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
  Welcome to 2007 and our new way of keeping in touch with you- FPS News from France. Like me, you may have remarked that the concept of fractional ownership ( or as we prefer to call it "home sharing") is a topic of growing interest in the media. While flying NY from our 3rd annual meeting of the MAV house, held in San José, I read an article in the United Airlines magazine called "Vacationing for Fun and for Profit"- January 2007.  This growing trend is easy to appreciate as premium properties become harder to find and more expensive. Travelers are putting  "2+2" together  and realizing that most second home owners use their vacation property less than 2 months per year. So, why not spend less for a great French house or apartment and let someone else worry about the details. Read on...
OK- Be daring! Veronique's Mousse de Thon Recipe
Veronique's chateau
 Sometimes you meet someone whose regal bearing bespeeketh royal upbringing and yet whose smile and demeanor invites one and all to feel "at home". That would describe Veronique de Lescure, whose recipe follows. Our web of French friendships intertwine these days with roots in Paris where my college roommate from the '70's still lives and then merges with a number of expats who now call the Languedoc their home. Our "Lyon connections" derived from hosting a lively 14 year old lad from Lyon, whose family then introduced us to the Lescure Family who run their popular B&B from Chateau de Lescure.  Bon appetit!     Read on for Spring recipe
Shopping for a (house) boat in France
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
la tulipe

Shopping for a house (boat) in France was not even on my radar screen when I headed to Toulouse in early October. I had blocked out a busy but fun-packed 2 weeks to scout out my next French home share project.After meeting up with my high school friend, Valerie, we excitedly compared notes about the forthcoming weeks: viewing Richard's house in one of my favorite corners of France, (the Sarlot/ Lot-Dordogne area) followed by dinner with Portland Oregon friends at Mme Moutiers B & B near La Bruyere LLC. Then we would scoot down to the Catalan region near Perpignan and the Spanish border to visit a lovely French woman, Marie-Pierre. We toured her large house with a gorgeous view to the sea and  its attached apartment. This will be for sale later in the year.  Lastly we would end up in the lovely village of Quarante (near Narbonne) and there I would purchase my dream car- a 1960 2CV! Perhaps we could even  have some "R & R".   Not bad, we thought. As I explained to my husband who was home playing "Super dad", our job was tough but someone had to do it!
