Attention Sunday School Teachers
| | We are finalizing plans for this coming school year which begins officially on September 9. Thanks to the teachers who were able to attend the teachers' meeting earlier this week. If you weren't able to attend the meeting or if you would like to teach Sunday school this coming year, please email Father Tripp and we will send you the information given out at the meeting and add you to the teacher roster. The calendar and other teaching materials are on the parish website in the parishioner resources section (click here). If you need a login account, please let Father Tripp know. Commissioning of all teachers will take place at the 9am Mass on September 9. |

Congratulations to Easton Davis & Kimberli Kramer!
| Our youth director, Easton Davis, will be married to Kimberli Kramer on August 18...just a week away! We are very excited not only that Easton has joined our parish staff and has begun to re-energize and lead our youth ministry program, but also for his upcoming marriage. We are taking up a thank offering to give to Easton and Kimberli and if you would like to contribute, you can donate online or earmark a check "Easton Davis Wedding" and place it in the collection plate on Sunday mornings.

Music Volunteer Needed
|
We are looking for a few volunteers to help with the St. Columba's Chorister Program for children at their Wednesday afternoon rehearsals during the school year. We use the Voice for Life curriculum from the Royal School of Church Music which allows Choristers to earn medals and ribbons as they progress. Volunteers will work with the Choristers in small groups on basic music theory and possibly basic singing skills (correct breathing, pitch matching, etc.). For more information, please contact Daniel Hahn, Director of Music and Liturgy, after Mass or at the parish office (770-888-4464; or via email).

Prayer Shawl Ministry & Fall Bazaar Crafts
|
The next meeting of the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be Friday, August 24th at the home of Judy Moorman. The meeting will be from 10 AM to Noon and followed by lunch at J. Christopher's. We will be working on our projects for the church bazaar. Because there is still much to do, we should consider meeting twice in the month of September. How would Sept. 14th and 28th work? Please let Judy Moorman know if you can meet on those dates. Bonnie Moore would like all projects given to her by Saturday, September 15th and we would like some volunteers for pricing our items, probably on the 28th or thereabouts. Can you help? Time is getting short and we want to have a good representation for our group! We have some very creative items that have been made! The more we have to sell, the more money we can earn for the church! If you have any questions please contact Judy Moorman (770-205-8534 or judymoorman@hotmail.com) or Bonnie Moore (678-513-0844 or Bonniemoore635@yahoo.com.)

Lector Ministry Opportunities
| |
Lectors are especially needed for Saturday evening and for Sunday's 7:45 Mass, but new lectors are always welcome for any Mass. As a Lector, you enter into a relationship with God's Word as revealed in sacred Scripture, and you take upon yourself the duty and privilege of bringing the printed word to life for the benefit of others. When you stand at the lectern, you give voice to ancient words that heal, strengthen, encourage, proclaim, and exhort. If you would like to become a part of this rewarding ministry, please contact ministry coordinator Bob Carrera (b.carrera@ comcast.net or 770-889-4993).

Fall Bazaar Planning Meeting
| |
There will be a meeting for the Bazaar on Monday, August 27 at 7:00 pm at the Church. It is important that all committee chairs attend as we will begin finalizing all the details and arrangements. Please plan to attend if you are a committee chair or if you would like to help in any way with the bazaar.
