Hey EYC! FIRSTLY! Bible study will still meet tomorrow July 3rd from 7 PM until 8: 30 PM even though it is a holiday week. WE HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE :)
We know that we just started the bible study recently, but we have already been given the opportunity to start doing service work right away! On July 8th we will be taking a group to Church of the Common Ground, a congregation that worships outdoors in Woodruff Park. This church serves as a parish for the homeless population. After the service we will serve our homemade sack lunches to the homeless.
This is an incredible opportunity for us to reach out to people that are in true need. WE (that means you and I) will provide the sack lunches for the homeless by making them before the service. We will make the sack lunches the day before we go. ANYONE can come help Sally make sandwiches at the church SATURDAY THE 7TH between 2 PM and 4 PM. If you have anyway questions about helping to make the lunches contact Sally at sally@saintcolumba.net. This is a BIG part of the service work for the Sunday service. We want everyone to think of a good bible verse, and a personal note that will be uplifting to the person who receives the lunch!
Unfortunately there is a limit to the amount of people that can attend with our group that day so REGISTER immediately. We don't have a lot of space! We will also have another event in a few weeks through Emmaus House that EVERYONE can attend, so keep that in mind as well!
WHERE: Church of the Common Ground
WHAT: We will attend service at Church of the Common Ground and providing a sack lunch for the homeless at the service. Even if you cannot attend the service you can still meet with Sally SATURDAY between 2 PM and 4 PM to help make the lunches. Any questions about Saturday contact Sally at Sally@saintcolumba.net
WHEN: Sunday July, 8th we will meet at 11:45 AM for departure at our church
COST: There is no cost! The church does accept donations of clothes, food, BIBLES, etc...
