Artist & Resident Team Up to Brighten Broadway

After Elisa Hamilton's all-star contribution to the Colors of the Americas East Somerville Art Walk (her work showed in the window of Taco Loco), exhibit curator Christopher Poteet asked Elisa Hamilton if she might contribute a little more of her artistic talent to East Somerville! With their team effort, Elisa's work now graces the switch box on the corner of Glen and Broadway for all to enjoy! Thanks Christopher. Thanks Elisa.

E. Som. in the News

Things are happening all over East Somerville. Tony's Foodland was one of only two small local grocery stores featured in the Boston Globe article on Somerville's best grocery stores. Mark Dellagrotte, the owner of Broadway's Sityodtong Mixed Martial Arts Studio, was nominated for the MMA Coach of the Year.
This month the Metropolitan Boston Emergency Medical Services Council (MBEMSC) awarded to East Somerville's Dennis Cataldo with the prestigious Region IV EMS Leader Award.
East Somerville's Grossman Marketing saw lots of new changes as they launched both their new StudioG solutions-driven design studio, and announced that the leadership of the company would be passing from one generation to the next. Word has it that Stop & Shop will soon add solar panels to their store. Let's hope we'll see it in the news soon!

Jimmy Tingle & A Taste of Broadway, what a success!
Thank
you to our sponsors for their generous contributions, as well as to the
individuals who purchased tickets and businesses who donated food. We are buoyed in our
efforts by your support and by the generosity of others like you. Thank

Shop Locally For The Holidays
Somerville Local First is bringing some exciting things to Somerville this Holiday Season, including their "Shift Your Shopping" campaign.
SLF is encouraging residents and businesses to make a 10% shift of shopping to local products, by buying local for the holiday season. You can start by checking out a few items on the "10 Best Kept Holiday Gift Ideas" list above. The campaign comes on the heels of a breakthrough New Orleans study, Thinking Outside The Box, by Civic Economics which shows that local retailers have twice the local economic impact of big box stores while consuming a fraction of the land area.
