Come out and join East Somerville Main Streets as we celebrate our neighborhood through 40 photographic perspectives.  From stories to places, people, and secrets, the works to be displayed throughout the concourses of City Hall will reflect both the diversity and energy of the artists and the neighborhood they took as their subject. The exhibition will hang from mid-November to mid-January. Come enjoy friends, neighbors, and refreshments as you take in the many different interpretations of
East Somerville.

PUPUSAS 

Ready for a culinary adventure that will knock your socks off?  Meet PUPUSAS: the Central American speciality that will make you wonder where they've been all your life! 

Pupusas are thick corn tortillas stuffed with anything from cheese to pork.  They are served with Curtido - Central America's version of sourkraut.

The City of Somerville is launching a Winter Hill and East Somerville rezoning study, which will focus on the Broadway corridor from Thurston and Fenwick Streets in Winter Hill to Sullivan Square and the City Line.  The rezoning will affect the types of buildings that can be constructed and the potential economic development in the area.

Owner, Beto Marques, has been an East Somerville resident for nearly a decade, and is congenial as they come.  Their specialty? : the salon has a much coveted expertise in hair extensions, as well as skills in cuts, coloring, and manicures.  And adding an extra twist to their services, they have also begun displaying artwork in their storefront.   Currently showing is the work of Alexandre Emmanuel, an up and coming local painter.

Already making their presence in the neighborhood known, the community police officers at the new East District Police Station, greeted Trick-or-Treaters with candy this year, bringing a new Halloween tradition to East Broadway!
