Double Lobster Trouble

Mudflat Pottery

Missed seeing the dancing lobsters on Broadway?  While the opportunity to see Mt. Vernon restaurant employees dressed in bright red lobster costumes handing out flyers may have passed, you can still take advantage of the restaurant's Twin Lobster Special.  They're offering a pair of 1 ¼-pound lobsters for $16.99 on Monday or $15.99 Tuesday through Saturday from 2-4pm, and 9pm-close.

Lobster-clad employee-sightings not guaranteed.

We hope the results of the survey will guide our future work in the neighborhood by giving us insight into who shops in and frequents the district.

Business District Expands

Storefront Lights

Queen's Beauty Salon has recently moved to 4 Lincoln St, right around the corner from Los Paisanos Restaurant.   The beauty salon had previously been at 46 Broadway, and its move demonstrates an important growth and development of the East Somerville business district -- filling a previously vacant storefront!

We look forward to seeing Queen's Beauty Salon thrive in its new location!

Spotlight on Business:

MINAS GRILL

Minas

Walk into Minas Grill, and the first thing you are bound to notice is the warm and homey atmosphere.  This churrascaria has recently splashed its walls with pink and fuchsia, making it a bright spot along Broadway.

Minas offers both a traditional Brazilian-style buffet and a variety of delicious hamburgers.  Like other Brazilian buffets, Minas charges by the pound.  While this may be a unique concept for people unfamiliar with Brazilian restaurants, it allows you to only pay for what you want to eat.  This makes Minas is a perfect choice whether you're looking for a hearty dinner or a light meal.

The buffet is also a great way to sample a variety of different Brazilian sides, such as different bean dishes and fried yucca.  And, of course, after loading up on salads and sides, meat lovers delight in Minas' barbecue selection!

Somerville Communications Expands to New Location
Moving

Somerville Communications, a Broadway business specializing in Latin music and cell phone sales, is in the process of moving and expanding.

Owners José and Piedad Mendez have been looking to expand since last year when their original store suffered a fire.  They are excited to renovate their new locale at 52 Broadway.

For the next month while they renovate and settle in, Somerville Communications will operate out of both the new and old locations.  Stop in to check out what they're doing with the new space!
