Loans & Lattes:
Businesses Gain Access to New Resources
In a successful effort to bring new resources to businesses, Loans and Lattes gathered over 20 people to learn and share information.
Representatives from Acción, a local micro-lender, met with business owners to answer questions on their small business lending program, and the Somerville Business Development Specialist distributed information on the City's business support resources. Also greeting business owners was Monica Lamboy, the Director of the Office of Strategic Planning and Community Development, and an East Somerville resident.
A special thanks to Cityline Laundromat and Ted Gogos & Sons Plumbing and Heating, who sponsored the event. |

Four Pressed Shirts
and a Book of Stamps, please.
Out of stamps and hoping that the Winter Hill Post Office might just sprout wings and land in East Somerville?
TLC Launderers and Cleaners, at 110A Broadway, are official stamp distributors for the US Postal Service. So you can now stop hoping for the first post office in flight, and just ask Pina and Leo for your stamps!

BIG BELLY
Comes to Broadway

Big Belly!? In most places you don't want to say that too loud. Despite this, many have been saying it loudly and with glee in front of Vinnie's Superette.
The City of Somerville DPW has placed a Big Belly, solar compacting, trash can in front of Vinnie's at 76 Broadway. 'Big Belly" trashcans self compact, keeping down odors, and lowering the frequency with which the cans have to be emptied.
Thanks to the City of Somerville and the DPW for taking the next step towards a litter-free Broadway. |
