 East Somerville SignGreetings!

To all of you who joined us at our Open House - thank you! The support of nearly 60 community members was a wonderful way to begin our first year!

Starting a Main Streets program in a community that is already as successful as East Somerville is an exciting proposition.  East Somerville's unique and diverse strengths lend themselves to developing an even stronger community center:  a great place where people can live, work, go out with friends and family, and never have left East Somerville!

The good news:  This is already possible!  As you walk or drive down Broadway, take a closer look at the bustling stores and restaurants.  Where else in Somerville can you pair prom dress shopping with Ethiopian food?  The better news:  Things can improve from here, and you can help lead the change.

By supporting our local businesses (Economic Support and Development Committee), creating a cleaner, more welcoming atmosphere (Design Committee) and promoting all the great resources we already have (Promotion Committee), we can build an even stronger community.

I look forward to hearing your ideas, and the ideas of others in the community.  Please feel free to pass this email on to those who you think might be interested!  Change will not happen over night, but it can happen by uniting our efforts.

Warm Regards,

Carrie Dancy
