Letter from the Director, Carl R. DeMilia
Guess Who's Coming in May, 2013
It is always great fun to be able to announce something that is exciting. But first, let me lead up to the big announcement by letting you know what is going to take place during the month of May, 2013.
The library has been planning for some time an event that will take place during the weeks of May1-24 next year. "Our New Milford, an American Town" is a month-long program focused on the history of New Milford. A variety of speakers and program topics are scheduled and will be open to everyone. Many of the programs are designed for people of all ages with the majority to be held here at the library. Full Story |
What's on Tap
by Sally Tornow, Public Services Librarian
The end of the year is going to be busy at NMPL, so make sure you set aside some time for these spectacular programs!
October is a spooky, dreamy sort of month, so we are exploring both those scenarios. On Wednesday, October 17th at 6:30 pm, we are proud to partner with the New Milford Historical Society to present a one-woman show by Virginia Wolf, entitled Panic In Connecticut: Accused Witches Have Their Say. "Panic in Connecticut ... is a realistic glimpse into daily life during a little understood part of our history. It is a superb theatrical performance by Ms. Wolf. And it is a cautionary tale - still valid today - about the importance of tolerance and the danger of gossip." --George Linkletter, Citizen News Full Story |

Updated NMPL Web Site
by Peggy Ganong, Library Technology Coordinator
In the interest of keeping our web site as current and dynamic as possible, we have re-designed the index page. The most dramatic (and hopefully helpful) change is the addition of a drop-down menu at the top of the page. This menu should assist in locating and accessing any information you need with a simple click! Also the graphical representation of some of our more popular services and features should make your access easier as well. Over time more changes and enhancements will be added, so visit often http://www.newmilfordlibrary.org to see what we have to offer! |
