Bringing the Silver Screen to Maryland

The Maryland Film Industry Coalition commissioned a study with RESI Applied Economics and Human Services (RESI-AEHS) of Towson University to conduct an analysis of the film and video industry in Maryland.  In addition to determining the economic impact of the industry, RESI-AEHS was tasked with finding the film and video industry's current employment concentration and the estimated level of employment needed in order to induce more film and video companies to set up permanent residency in the state.

Endowment builds upon Osher's growing reputation

The sta
ff and voosher classroomlunteers for the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Towson University are beaming with pride these days. So are its members. They learned last month that The Bernard Osher Foundation is awarding TU $1 million to establish an endowment for the 10-year-old institute, which offers adults age 50 and older opportunities for continued learning as well as programs for social and cultural enrichment. The money is only part of it, said Osher Institute director Jackie Gratz. The endowment is "a testament to the high quality of our program," she said. "It's a stamp of approval." Read More>>

TU Chief of Staff, Ted Zaleski, provided remarks that centered around DECO's strategic role in positioning TU as a major metropolitan university both regionally and nationally.
