Dear UEDA Members,
We have quite an exciting agenda for UEDA's 2008 Summit. In addition to fascinating keynote speakers, we will hear panel presentations from the University of Alaska, Purdue University, Southeast Missouri State University, East Stroudsburg University, Cornell University, the National Business Incubation Association, and the Association of University Research Parks. Further, we'll learn about interesting economic development projects from Awards of Excellence finalists in six award categories.
I'm happy to report that we are receiving many registrations for UEDA's 2008 Summit in November in St. Petersburg. Keep in mind that September is the last month to take advantage of the Early Bird rate. The Early Bird rate ends on October 1. You may register on-line or by mailing in a check.
We are looking forward to seeing you in St. Petersburg!

Congress has been in recess since 1 August and will continue until the week of September 8 at which time both the Senate and the House will return to Washington to a very heavy schedule to be completed before the October 1 beginning of the new fiscal year. Unfortunately there are few legislative days left between now and the beginning of the new fiscal year and both parties will be heavily focused on winning the presidential election in November therefore only the most politically essential legislation will be moved between now and the election.
