With less than a month before Congress begins its month-long August recess, a tremendous amount of work was achieved just before the beginning of the July 4 recess. To date, the House Appropriations Committee has reported out five spending bills (Commerce-Justice-Science, Energy-Water, Financial Services, Homeland Security and Military Construction-Veterans Affairs), with seven bills remaining to be finished after the recess.
