The Trusted Connection Between People and Research

PCs Still Most Used Device Over Mobile

Luth Research's ZQ Intelligence™ Web Tracking Technology monitors online behavioral trends over time.  Our current study showed that PCs are still being used by consumers more than Mobile apps or Mobile websites. After tracking both PC and mobile behaviors we found that consumers on average spent 67% of their time using a computer to surf the Internet compared to 23% of their time on Mobile apps and 10% on Mobile websites.

While on those PCs it is not surprising that Gaming websites are where time is most spent. ZQ Intelligence tracked consumers for a 6-month period from January to June 2012, to view different engagement levels with different categories of websites. Gaming websites have captured the most time spent per visit, yielding an average of 30 minutes.  This was followed by Online Communities with an average of 27 minutes per visit and Arts and Entertainment at 22 minutes per visit.  Finance is the least per minute category with an average of 8 minutes per visit.

How does this apply to your industry and your business?  By tracking where your customers are spending their time online you can make informed decisions about your marketing efforts.  To learn more about ZQ Intelligence and ZQ Digital Tribe™ contact  Luth Research.

It Was July 21st, 1977

Jimmy Carter was President, the movie Star Wars arrived in theaters, the first Apple II computer went on sale, a gallon of gas cost $.65 and Roseanne Luth opened Luth Research with a card table and one phone.

As we celebrate our 35th Anniversary we would like to thank all of our clients and colleagues for their support.  Luth Research is proud to part of an industry that has made considerable strides over the past 35 years.  We have gone from door-to-door interviews to online tracking. Who would have imagined the advances that have taken place?

Luth Research staff celebrated with a company-wide bowling party. The theme was The 70's with each bowling team being named after a 70's television show. It was a great day to celebrate all of our hard work and accomplishments.
