"I have sought a spiritual home for some time. MCCAustin had me "At Amen!"
Beyond all doubt, MCC Austin offers a safe place where I can celebrate my personal uniqueness, contribute to the MCC Austin community, and engage spiritually with my GLBTQ brothers and sisters. MCC Austin serves as my place to be spiritually fit. And I am blessed by it! " ~Donna Nichols

Celebration Sunday!
Well everyone, we have come to the end of your newsletter series. This means that we are one step closer to reaching our goal of building our new church home. Now before we get there, we have a few more stops to make, chief among those is on June 13 for MCC Austin's Celebration Sunday Worship Service. The Steering committee is having a very special worship service at Akins High School Cafeteria, 10701 South First St., Austin, Texas, starting at 11:00 am.
This time of fellowship will be perhaps the largest Church meal in our history!! As God often called God's people together for celebration and remembrance, we gather as an expression of praise and appreciation for God's goodness to us in the past and our anticipation of God's rich blessings in the future. This is going to be a time for us to really come together and celebrate. We've planned an exciting worship program that you won't want to miss. |
The Purpose...
The culmination of your Being Church ~ Building Community capital campaign is the giving of the commitment cards. A lot of you may still be concerned that this is a big commitment to make, and you might not be ready. But we want to assure you that it's not as hard as you think. We make commitments every day of our lives. When we accept a job, we commit to show up for work. We buy houses by making commitments for up to thirty years! We have electricity in our homes and telephone service because we have committed ourselves to pay for the service we use. None of us knows the future, but to obtain the important things in life, we have to commit not only our financial resources, but we have to committee ourselves to having faith and seeing it through. We do it every day for ourselves, now's our chance to do it for God.

What is "Lifestyle Stewardship"?
Simply put, lifestyle stewardship is denying ourselves in one area in order to give more of ourselves to Christ. One way to do that is by adopting King David's spirit of giving and saying to yourself, "I will not offer to God that which costs me nothing."
If you are wondering about how to discern your over and above financial pledge to the Being Church ~ Building Community campaign, consider these questions:
- Have I sought and found God's direction?
- Have I allowed God to move in my spirit?
- Will my commitment require a significant change in my lifestyle?
- Am I really giving up something of value?
- Is my commitment an accurate reflection of the faith I have in God's promise to meet my needs?
- If my private decision was a public decision instead, would it be different?

Why your commitment card is important
Raising the capital that we need to build our new church home is a very big, very important endeavor, and we really cannot do it without you! You are the backbone of this campaign, the actual foundation that our new church home is going to be built on. When you give us your commitment card, you are giving us your "Estimate of Giving," and that will provide our church leaders with an accurate projection of our cash flow over the next few years; this is very valuable and necessary information. By completing a commitment card, you are rendering a great service to our church. |

Go to God with an open heart and pray "God, bless me
with generosity. May my giving to your church be one of the ways I
offer myself
to you and return thanks for your blessings."
