'Spare seat' kayak expedition paddles into Cayuga County
On May 5th British expeditioner Richard Har pham and friends paddled into Cayuga County as part of an epic journey, kayaking more than 500 miles across the beautiful landscapes of New York State. The adventure began in Buffalo and Niagara Falls, followed the Erie Canal to Albany and continued into the Hudson River to New York City, ending at the Statue of Liberty. The Cayuga County Office of Tourism worked with I Love NY and local historians and tourism partners to plan a day of activities that included a picnic with community members and local officials on the Richmond Aqueduct in Montezuma, a tour of the Old Brutus Historical Society Museum and a delicious meal at Devaney's Riverside Grill. The purpose of the expedition was to promote the heritage, culture, wildlife, iconic locations, communities and waterways along the route via various media outlets in the U.K. Special thanks go to Cheryl Longyear, Mike Riley, Jeanne Baker and Devaney's Riverside Grill for all their help and hospitality!

Forty-nine connections were made and follow-up on potential future business is currently underway. Our creative 'Pinterest' theme drew a lot of interest from convention attendees.
