Finding the Parent in the Teen

Are you interested in helping your pregnant and parenting teens develop and strengthen their attachment with their children?  Join APPCNC for a day-long training that will begin by exploring foundational concepts from attachment and parent support literature with Dr. Melissa Johnson.  We will use the afternoon Roundtable discussion to share practices that help teen parents bond with their children and develop confidence in their parenting abilities.

This six hour training will help you:
  • Improve your understanding of parent-child attachment theory
  • Identify principles that support infant and toddler mental health
  • Add strategies to your "took kit" for working successfully with teen parents
  • Help teen parents develop a bond with their babies from pregnancy through the toddler years
  • Address barriers to positive parent-child interaction such as maternal depression
  • Share what's working in your programs
