MANZANAR by Joyce Orazaki February 17, 2010
Today's program Manzanar, Joyce Orazaki talked to us about the hsitory
leading up to the later delcared illegal detention of American Citizens of Japanese
decent. She also discussed her family history and its relation to the
interment. During World War II, 15 detention camps were set up in the
mainly western part of the United States. Included in that number was the Santa
Anita Race Track which held about 18,000 individuals.
