1000 Games for Ottawa Senator CHRIS PHILLIPS!!!!
Congratulations to Chris Phillips on achieving the 1000 NHL Game milestone! 1000 games and 1000+ smiles on faces of young cancer patients here in Ottawa.
Chris, together with his wife Erin, have been Honorary Chairmen for Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Support Programs since the 1999 - 2000 hockey seas
on. His unprecedented and unwavering support of Candlelighters and the children and families we support is nothing short of remarkable and has had a tremendous impact in Candlelighters ability to grow as an organization in our community. It was our distinct pleasure to have him provide a key note address to the guests at Candlelighters 10th Anniversary celebrations in 2009.
Not only has Chris met many of our Candlelighters' kids over the years, visiting them in hospital and participating in events in the community, he is a wonderful spokesman for Candlelighters. Be it speaking at City Hall during Childhood Cancer Awareness Day celebrations, giving interviews during live Radio-a-thon fundraisers, attending many fund and awareness raising initiatives, including the annual Chipping In For Charity golf tournament, 24hr Tremblant and DragonBoat to name but a few, or hosting the annual Candlelighters Christmas Party with Erin, Chris continues to be a truly dedicated and amazing Ambassador for Candlelighters. We are indeed fortunate and thankful for all he has contributed to the Ottawa community on the road to his 1000 NHL game!
