This beautiful room took it's inspiration from the newly purchased art glass vase featured on the table.  The homeowner enjoys a blend of traditional and comtemporary elements.  The artwork was commissioned by a local art gallery.  The sofa and draperies are custom made for the room, and the cocktail table is an Eva Zeisel original. 

Thanks to all of you who came to our booth at the Katy Home and Garden Show.  We enjoyed meeting all of you.

Growing up, my mother taught me and my sisters the value of "making do".  As I grew older, I realized that there something challenging and rewarding about taking something old and making it new again or finding a whole new purpose for it.  One of my favorite things to do is bargain hunt at garage sales or thrift stores for a solid piece of furniture that can be painted or restored to work in my home.  These projects can be personalized and if well done will be the most interesting pieces you may own.  I'll even admit that I've been known to pick-up treasures on the trash pile! 

 

So go out and have some fun.  It may be a great family project
