The CAN (Chinese American Nurses) Sisters II - Sharing Our Adaptation Experiences (coming in December 2012)

This is an extensive followup to the CAN article we first published in our August 23rd, 2011 eNewsletter. Because of the length of this article, it will be published in 2 parts in our Dec., 6th and 20th eNewsletters

This follow-up article is the collaborative work of a team of Chinese American Nurses (CAN) sisters from Kansas City, MO. It speaks as "foreign" nurses who have worked in America for a number of years.

How do you deliver competent care based on your patient's cultural background? How do you avoid making cultural mistakes that may adversely effect the care you are giving?

Happy Thanksgiving

turkeyAt DiversityNursing.com, we are thankful for our family, friends, coworkers and all the nurses and employers who strive to provide the best patient care found anywhere in the world. We are thankful that we have a forum to recognize the unique talents of nurses and to highlight those employers who value the importance of diversity within their nursing workforce. Please take a moment to reflect on those things for which you are grateful and to remember those among us who are less fortunate and who may need a smile or a helping hand.
