NBNA Annual Conference Recap
Did you know the NBNA is celebrating 40 Years of Nursing Excellence and their 40th Anniversary of the National Black Nurses Association? Congratulations to the NBNA Board, Members and all the great work you do! This year's Conference was last week and it coincided with The Black Expo being held in Indianapolis, IN. The NBNA represents over 150,000 African American Registered Nurses, licensed vocational/practical Nurses and Nursing students since its founding in 1971. Their mission "to investigate, define and determine the healthcare requirements of African Americans and other diverse communities to foster optimal health and healthcare services commensurate with that of the larger society". The NBNA Conference Program included sessions covering The Future of Nursing, Obesity, Asthma-related Signs & Symptoms, Nursing and the Law, as well as Infant & Prenatal Nutrition.
