NERBNA 2010 Conference New England Regional Black Nurses Association
DiversityNursing.com was a recent exhibitor at the local NBNA Chapter, New England Regional Black Nurses Association. NERBNA had their Annual Spring Conference on Friday, April 23, 2010. The focus of NERBNA's Conference was "Healthcare Reform and its Impact on Communities of Color: Challenges & Solutions". This was a forum for healthcare providers to identify, explore and develop strategies for the healthcare reform process to improve the health status of communities of color. Did you know that 1 in 3 Americans identify as a member of a racial or ethnic group? The Keynote Address from Mary Ann Hart, MSN, NP-C, Assistant Professor of Clinical Nursing at Regis College of Nursing in Wellesley, MA spoke very eloquently about Healthcare Reform and its Impact on Communities of Color and referred the audience to the Kaiser Family Foundation for information and links regarding Healthcare Reform in the US.

HAPPY NURSES WEEK! Since 1953, National Nurses Week has been observed to recognize the work and commitment of
nurses. The week begins on May 6, marked as RN Recognition Day, and ends
on May 12, the birthday of Florence Nightingale, founder of the nursing
profession. The celebration of Nurses Week is a time for reflecting on the rich
sense of community that draws us together as professionals and sustains
us as we engage in the practice of nursing. |
