Are you too busy?
A powerful sentence from an article I read lately that addresses the overwhelming feeling of not having enough time:
Change your language. Instead of saying "I don't have time" try saying "it's not a priority," and see how that feels. Often, that's a perfectly adequate explanation. I have time to iron my sheets, I just don't want to.
But other things are harder. Try it: "I'm not going to edit your résumé, sweetie, because it's not a priority." "I don't go to the doctor because my health is not a priority." If these phrases don't sit well, that's the point. Changing our language reminds us that time is a choice. If we don't like how we're spending an hour, we can choose differently. (author unknown)
This may seem simplistic, but the author makes a powerful point:
We have more choices than we sometimes think we do.
What little things do you want to purposefully make more time for? Don't try to just cram them in. What are some things you could let go of?
Now here's the myth: We too often think the things we will let go of will be EASY to let to of. Not so. It may be agonizing. The payoff will just be worth it.
I speak from experience. This 'hamster on a wheel' state is one I have to constantly wrestle with, or it will win. For me, it takes intentionality, persistence and very hard choices to keep me off the wheel.
And sometimes I even grieve the things I said no to. But I simply cannot live a joy-filled life without some white space. Most people can't.

What can you do to create some white space? The Leadership Success Circle can help...
