Greetings!
I hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend, and spent some time celebrating special people in your life.
If you or your mom is in any kind of leadership role, you'll be excited about the new Leadership Series on-demand mini-courses that are coming your way very soon, the first one as early as this week! This series is being developed in response to many of your requests to have ongoing leadership training at your fingertips!
An important motto that I embrace is "leadership is a process, not an event." Lifelong learning and application develops leaders. Your requests for continual training shows it's obvious you agree with this motto. Check out today's leadership tip, and watch your email for more details on the new Leadership Series!
Unleash the leader within!

MONDAY MORNING LEADERSHIP TIP #162 Leadership is a Process, Not an Event | |
In my early years of providing training and consulting, I would often get a call from an organization and ask me to come and provide them with general leadership training. There is no such thing as "general leadership training." As you can probably imagine, that request is so broad, I would have no idea where to start!
Gradually I learned to ask three pointed questions that would give me the answers I needed:
-
What challenges are you currently experiencing with your leaders?
-
What area(s) of leadership is most important to address at this current time?
-
What specifically would you like your participants to have or know after the training that they do not know now?
With this information, I could put together a training event that I knew would fulfill the organizations' desires and expectations. To help me know my audience, I often also ask the questions:
As you think about the fact that 'leadership is a process, not an event,' I encourage you to ask the above questions about your own organization. The answers to these questions will give you a snapshot of leadership strengths and weaknesses, and will also help you answer the question of what training and development needs are currently most pressing with your leadership?
A quick, one-day workshop does not develop a leader - but rather thousands of ways, both big and small, that foster the understanding and development of a leader over time. The new Leadership Series on-demand mini-courses are a great opportunity to make a significant contribution to your own growth as a leader, or those seasoned and emerging leaders in your workplace. |

GIVE YOURSELF THE GIFT OF A LIFE COACH |

Would you like a partner walking along side you as you improve your leadership skills?
Research shows that, the effectiveness of learning is increased fourfold when the participant is partnered with a Coach. A 1997 study showed training resulting in 22% increase in effectiveness, and when combined with coaching, it increased to 88%.
I can help you develop what you already possess to reach your goals successfully and effectively.
How does Life Coaching work?
Generally done over the phone, Coaching is client-driven; you decide what you need, where you want to grow, and I provide guidance, support and accountability. Did you know that Coaching can be tax deductible? And Coaching typically qualifies to be financed through dollars required to be specified for training only?
