Name the Three New Edot at Ramah Outdoor Adventure

Ramah Outdoor Adventure, Ramah's first specialty camp, completed its inaugural summer in 2010 with 120 campers from 17 U.S. states, Canada, and Israel. They came to the Colorado Rockies to experience intense outdoor activities in a supportive Ramah environment. Due to overwhelming demand, we will add three new edot to accommodate camp's expansion for next summer. Applications are now being accepted for all age groups, entering 3rd through 11th grades.
Help us name our three new edot! Last year, hundreds of people voted to help us name our original three edot. Click here to register your vote! |
Daber Hebrew Language Initiative Launches to Great Success in 2010
This summer, Ramah launched the Daber Hebrew Language Initiative, pioneered at all 11 Ramah camps across North America. Daber, funded by the AVI CHAI Foundation and the National Ramah Commission, focused on enhancing Hebrew usage within the bunks, at meals, and during other day-to-day activities.

The Daber grant supervisor, Cheryl Magen, is a consultant to the Ramah camps from the Davidson Graduate School of Jewish Education at JTS. According to Cheryl, "Fostering and nourishing Hebrew ability has always been a part of Ramah's mission, but the inaugural year of the Daber program reawakened a passion for Hebrew that enlivened all of our programming."
