Hi everyone!

Thanks to all of you who have tuned in to our Kickstarter campaign! It's been utterly thrilling to see so much support so quickly from friends and people around the world. And I'm in awe of the community dialogue that's happening on Facebook and social media. Thank you all for your generosity and encouragement!

The Sundance Institute has been incredibly supportive of our campaign. We're thrilled that Geographies of Kinship is featured on their curated Kickstarter page! Check it out and you'll see our project and other wonderful films by Sundance alumni.

Our project has also been picked as a Kickstarter "Staff Pick!" You can check it out here: http://www.kickstarter.com/discover/recommended?ref=sidebar. This greatly increases our exposure and will help us reach our goal.

Studies show that projects that get a strong start are much more likely to get funded. So if you haven't done so already, this is a great time to check out our site and join our team! With your support, I know we'll meet our goal! And just a reminder that contributions are tax-deductible.

Thank you in advance and please share this with your friends and anyone you think would be interested!

Happy viewing!

Introducing Korea Homeland Journey for Adoptive Families
Korea Homeland Journey
It's never too early to plan for next summer.

Korea Homeland Journey (KHJ) sponsors an amazing trip for Korean adoptive families to visit their child's birth country. Our next trip will be June 24 - July 7, 2013. It is never too early to start planning for next summer. The maximum capacity for the tour is 30 people. Korea Homeland Journey will provide flights, hotels, meals and transportation in Korea. KHJ will also set-up meetings with adoption agencies and foster families. A Korean tour guide will lead all touring and will act as a translator.

Please visit our website at http://www.koreahomelandjourney.com/ for more information. Or email me directly with any questions.

Sincerely,

Journeys: The 14th Annual KAAN Conference

Journey with Us at the 14th Annual KAAN Conference

Journeys...

Albany Marriott, Albany, NY
July 27-29, 2012

KAAN is a community where people seek to improve the lives of adoptees and their families through education and support. Since 1999, KAAN has provided an annual conference located in the United States or Korea. These conferences are unique assemblies of those with ties to each other... Korean-born adoptees of all ages as well as family through birth, adoption or marriage, other Koreans and Korean-Americans, social workers, adoptees from other backgrounds, community leaders, and more. Through gathering together, we find what we have in common and where we can help one another.

Our conferences provide over thirty sessions on ethnic ties, search and reunion, racial identity development, family relationships, and more. Each block includes an adoptee-only session as well as many choices open to all. Cultural and social activities are offered as well as vendors, exhibits, and film screenings. Our 2012 conference theme is Journeys. Together we will explore the many journeys--physical, emotional, legal, spiritual--that we as individuals and as a community travel.

Want to hear about personal journeys and also research being done by adoptees on the experiences of other adoptees? Want to connect with others who are planning programs across the country? Want to meet some great friends and mentors? Join a global community of adopted people, first and adoptive parents, extended adoptive families, and adoption professionals at the KAAN Conference. Online registration is still available at http://www.kaanet.com/currentconference/.

New This Year
A new  childcare program that is joining our existing youth activities and adult programs. Together these programs create offerings for attendees age 3 and up and make it possible for all members of adoptive families to attend.

Back by Popular Demand: The adult-adoptee-only tier that runs throughout our program blocks. Adoptees are the largest attendance demographic, followed by other Koreans and Korean -Americans and adoptive parents. We also have birthparents, siblings and spouses/partners of adoptees, and social workers who attend.

See you in Albany!
