Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, Babaji Maharajah and many others. He will also be reading from his new book FROM INDIA WITH LOVE, his holiness will present himself for Darshan and questions. What is Phenomenology? In its most basic form, phenomenology is the study of the consciousness from a first-person perspective, as opposed to, but not exclusive of, a third-person perspective like the neurological perspective. It is the attempt to reflect on pre-reflexive experience to determine certain properties of, or structures in, consciousness.
Who was Edmund Husserl? Edmund Husserl was a philosopher, known as the father of phenomenology. His work was a break with the purely positivist orientation and understanding of the science and philosophy of his day, giving weight to subjective experience as the source of all of our knowledge of objective phenomena. |
