Martha Stewart Living Highlights Historic Deerfield
Eight-page Spread in October Issue Features Museum, Antiques Show

The October 2010 issue of Martha Stewart Living magazine is just hitting newstands throughout the United States, and featured inside is an 8-page spread about Historic Deerfield museum.  Titled "All the Old Haunts," the article presents a wide array of information and images covering many aspects of the historic houses and collections available to visitors.  It also highlights the upcoming 2010 ADA/Historic Deerfield Antiques Show taking place on Columbus Day Weekend.

Martha Stewart logo"This is a really "good thing' for the Pioneer Valley on the eve of foliage season," said Philip Zea, President of Historic Deerfield.  "The national exposure puts us on the map, and positions Historic Deerfield as a top destination for visitors interested in early American history."

Preparations for the article began last year when Historic Deerfield was contacted by Fritz Karch, Editorial Director for Collecting and Quy Nguyen, Senior Associate Editor for Collecting.  They immediately fell in love with Deerfield on their first visit, and made arrangements for photographer Francois Dischinger to capture the village during the height of last fall's foliage season.  In the spring of this year, writer Tim McKeough visited the village and prepared the story based on the stunning images captured the previous fall.

"The timing couldn't be better," said Marc Belanger, Director of Marketing at Historic Deerfield.  "This article is arriving when many potential visitors are just starting to think about enjoying some beautiful fall foliage in a classic New England village, and maybe getting away for a weekend of museum going and relaxation in Deerfield!"

In addition to the coverage in the print magazine, there is also an online gallery of images and information available at marthastewart.com/deerfield.

For more information on visiting Historic Deerfield, log on to www.historic-deerfield.org or call 413-775-7214.  The 2010 ADA/Historic Deerfield Antiques Show will take place October 9-10 at the Deerfield Academy Hockey Rink.
