FlyntHistoric Deerfield will once again be open daily from 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. (except Thanksgiving, Nov. 25). Most museum houses are shown on the hour during guided tours that last approximately one-half hour each. Two museum houses are open all day for self-guided tours, and the Apprentice's Workshop at Dwight House is open from 12-4 p.m.

Open Hearth Cooking: Spring Foods

Open Hearth
Savor the delicious sights, sounds, and smells of hearth cooking while learning about colonial foods and diet.Visitors may watch as our open hearth cooks prepare dishes using authentic 18th and early 19th century recipes in the 1786 kitchen in Hall Tavern. Learn about the seasonal availability of garden produce. Take a stroll through the Cooks' Garden dedicated to the Memory of Margaret Quinn Orloske. Free with general admission.

April School Vacation-Apprentice's Week: Spotlight on Stencil Art

 

 
April 17-25
9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

Learn about the work of stencil artists who traveled from town to town taking commissions to decorate building interiors. Explore the art of stenciling and make a beautiful and unique stenciled artwork to take home.  Visit historic houses throughout the village. At the Apprentice's Workshop at Dwight House, visitors can weave on a loom; use tools used to decorate early ceramics; and try using hand tools in the woodworking area. Included with general admission.

Paul Revere and Beyond: Understanding 18th-Century New England Silver

Historic Deerfield curators and renowned silver experts will come together for a one-day silver forum titled "Paul Revere and Beyond: Understanding 18th-Century New England Silver." Guests will get an up close look at Historic Deerfield's silver collection, which ranks among the top 10 collections in United States.
