My mother-in-law is 99 years old, and her mind is leaving her faster than her body.  Still she has a positive spirit and sweet smile.  Her very tough life in war-time Communist occupied Germany has taught her gratitude for small intangible things - a gift from the adversity in her life.  Almost all adversity has a gift in its hand.
