TRANSITIONING FROM SUMMER &

NY TIMES ARTICLE ON SUMMER COLLEGE ESSAYS

YOUR CAMPER OR TEEN HAS ALREADY RETURNED

OR WILL SOON BE BACK HOME . . .

Are you prepared for the transition?

Our "best practices" for welcoming and transitioning campers and teens from their summer experiences will make it easier for you as well as for them.

Read about them in my SheKnows.com Camp Chatter article on Camp Decompression.  It is full of  tips for reinforcing good behaviors learned at camp or a summer program, re-establishing normal routines, tips for dealing with negative summer experiences, and how to best prepare for the transition to school.

Be sure to read it before your kids return or soon after. Even seasoned parents can benefit from information on how to make the welcome back home more successful.

If you have any new tips to share, please post them to the Everything Summer Facebook page or on Twitter; we would love to hear them.

Please share this great resource with other camp and teen summer families.

For those with teens, be sure to read For a Standout College Essay, Applicants Fill Their Summers which featured us on the front page of the New York Times

on Saturday, August 6th.

Wishing you and your family the very best welcome home to your campers and teens!
