Karin Rosenthal, Shell with Hole, 2010.

Rosenthal's fascinating photographs reveal the pleasures of close
observation. Reflections and shadows of barely recognizable human forms mingle with physical objects and watery lenses within the spaces of sea shores. Please join Karin and the PRC to recognize her remarkable accomplishments and gather in the unique setting of the Center's offices.

PRC Lowers Admission Price for Master Lecture Series

Beginning with our next lecture on May 19 with Lori Waselchuk, the PRC is lowering the price for admission to the Master Lecture Series. Admission will now be $10 for non-members, $5 for members, and $5 for students of non-Institutional Member schools. This represents a 50% reduction in cost for members and a 33% reduction for non-members. We hope this will encourage more PRC members and more of the general public to take advantage of the renowned speakers the PRC brings to Boston as part of our Master Lecture Series.

Calvin Dumas helps turn George Alexander in his bed, Angola State Prison, Louisiana.

Lori Waselchuk is a photographer based in Philadelphia, but she has a special level of dedication to people in the state of Louisiana. Her work in Grace Before Dying concentrates on a prisoner-run hospice program at Louisiana State Penitentiary located in Angola. The prison has a large percentage of inmates serving life sentences; nearly three-quarters of its 5,000 residents will leave the prison only upon their deaths. Waselchuk gained unique access to a program that has transformed lives. Her panoramic black-and-white prints record the heightened sensitivities that this ground-breaking program has instilled in a very tough world.
